AI readiness assessment guide
A practical guide to evaluating business value, data, access, risk, adoption, architecture, and operating ownership before an AI rollout.
Readiness is not a license check or a maturity score. It is evidence that a useful scenario has an owner, approved information, a safe action boundary, a measurable outcome, and a realistic path into operation.
Begin with work worth changing
Start with recurring work, customer or employee friction, constrained expertise, delayed decisions, or a measurable operating problem. A popular tool is not a business case.
- Name the person and job
- Describe the current delay, cost, risk, or quality gap
- Define the useful outcome
- Identify the owner who can accept or reject the change
Inspect the information and authority
The system can only be as dependable as the information it may use and the authority it may exercise. Readiness work maps sources, permissions, sensitivity, retention, tool access, and required human checkpoints.

Prepare the people and operating model
Training, support, evaluation, incident handling, cost control, and governed change are part of readiness. They should not appear for the first time after a pilot succeeds.
